Computer Services, Inc. (CSI) seeks a Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, and C++.

The role emphasizes modernizing legacy C++ codebases and delivering secure, high-performing integration solutions within online banking ecosystems. You will lead backend projects, enforce best practices, and mentor teammates while contributing to API design, third-party integrations, and platform migrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Strong proficiency in C++, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Experience with API design, third-party integrations, and security.
• Familiarity with production-grade scalable systems.
• Experience with financial systems or core banking is a plus.
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, and modern software practices.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of development and rollout of large projects involving backend services.
• Enforce coding standards with emphasis on TypeScript, Node.js, and API design.
• Manage integration-heavy initiatives and legacy-to-modern migrations.
• Write technical specs, including API contracts and modernization approaches.
• Coach colleagues on backend development and modernization strategies.
• Showcase expertise in backend systems and integration frameworks.
• Apply TypeScript/Node.js effectively; support legacy C++ systems.
• Provide proactive problem solving and thought leadership in migrations.
• Mentor less experienced engineers in scalable services.
