Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a platform team building the services behind large-scale customer experiences. You will work on Node.js, TypeScript, and Rust, delivering REST and GraphQL layers for high-traffic apps and integrating AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems at a high-scale organization.
• Hands-on production coding experience in Node.js and TypeScript on the backend.
• Hands-on coding experience in Rust in production services or performance-critical modules.
• Strong web fundamentals: HTTP semantics, cookies, headers, caching, sessions, and server-to-server communication patterns.
• Experience with GraphQL on Node.js (schema design, resolvers, federation) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of scoped features through collaborative engineering teams, aligned with platform objectives.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality services in Node.js, TypeScript, and Rust across full lifecycle and CI/CD.
• Build and optimize server-to-server integrations and API layers (REST and GraphQL) for high-traffic apps.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into product services and leverage generative AI to improve productivity.
• Mentor peers and promote engineering excellence across the team.
