Job summary

rePurpose Global is seeking a senior backend engineer to join its remote-friendly team. You will design, build and maintain scalable server-side services and APIs with a focus on performance, reliability and security.

Working across a modern stack (Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, Vue, AWS), you will collaborate with product and frontend teams, evolve infrastructure with CI/CD, containers, and IaC, and evaluate AI tooling to enhance the platform.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of software development experience.
• Strong background in Node.js/TypeScript and modern web stacks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and DevOps practices.
• Experience with GraphQL or REST APIs and API design.
• Familiarity with frontend basics (HTML, CSS, JS) for collaboration.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable server-side services and APIs with focus on performance, reliability, and security.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure on AWS, including CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Full-Cycle Development: Contribute across the full software development lifecycle—from architecture and planning through implementation, testing, and production deployment.
• Codebase Enhancement: Optimize the existing codebase to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• AI Tooling & Technology Evaluation: Stay updated with industry trends, propose adoption of new technologies to enhance the product’s capabilities.
