Job summary

rePurpose Global is hiring a Backend Engineer to build scalable server-side services and APIs in a remote-friendly, East Coast environment. You will own cloud infrastructure on AWS, drive CI/CD, and work across teams to deliver high-performing systems.

Candidates should have strong TypeScript and Node.js experience, GraphQL, databases, and a security-first mindset. A CS degree and 4+ years in cloud-based stacks are preferred, with US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with cloud-based modern stacks (AWS) and DevOps.
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js expertise.
• Experience with GraphQL; knowledge of frontend frameworks (Vue/React) is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: design, build, and maintain scalable server-side services and APIs.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: own AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, monitoring, cost optimization.
• Full-Cycle Development: contribute across architecture, planning, testing, and deployment.
• Codebase Enhancement: optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaboration: work with product, design, and other engineering teams.
• AI Tooling & Technology Evaluation: explore AI advances and propose applicable tech.
