Job summary

Harnham in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to design and implement scalable APIs and microservices in an AWS serverless environment. This hands-on role focuses on backend with some frontend work, collaborating with architects and stakeholders.

You'll work 80% backend, 20% frontend, mentor junior developers, and contribute to CI/CD processes while delivering cloud-native solutions for mobile apps, portals, and third-party integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience (6-8 preferred).
• Strong AWS Serverless and microservices experience.
• Experience with Python and/or Node.js.
• Frontend experience with React, React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, and GraphQL.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• SQL and NoSQL database experience.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members.
• Recent U.S.-based project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices on AWS.
• Develop cloud-native applications using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and related services.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders on technical solutions.
• Gather requirements, provide project updates, and translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Support testing, UAT, deployments, and CI/CD processes.
• Lead projects, mentor junior developers, and perform code reviews.
