Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to join the Atlas Clusters Platform team. The Atlas Clusters Platform team builds the orchestration backbone for MongoDB Atlas, a globally distributed database service.

You’ll design and ship backend features, collaborating with product, design, and customer engineers. Based in New York City for our hybrid model, you’ll work across Java, C#, Go, React, TypeScript, and Kubernetes, and with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience writing large-scale distributed backend systems in a compiled language (Java, C#, Go).
• Familiarity with modern web stack (React, TypeScript, Kubernetes).
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Led the launch of a new feature and maintained it in production.
• Excellent communication skills; collaborative and motivated.

Responsibilities

• Build and design new features for MongoDB Atlas.
• Contribute to and lead complex technical projects.
• Collaborate with product and design teams, considering user perspective while building solutions.
• Work with customers and support engineers to fix issues.
• Collaborate with team members to develop codebase, practices, and design principles.
• Learn from and mentor other team members.
