Job summary

MongoDB is seeking engineers for its San Francisco team to design, implement, and scale backend systems underpinning Atlas Search. This role focuses on building scalable, observable infrastructure and collaborating with a cross-functional group to deliver robust features.

You will contribute to architecture decisions, drive subsystem ownership, and help shape the roadmap while thriving in a hybrid, in-person-friendly office environment in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on backend software design, development, testing, and maintenance in complex codebases.
• Experience building distributed systems and multithreaded applications.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms and distributed infrastructure.
• Experience with at least one modern statically typed language, and interest in Java.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills and collaboration.
• Growth mindset with quick learning, reflection, and feedback incorporation.
• Strong sense of ownership from initial design through production maintenance.
