Job summary

MongoDB is seeking an experienced Security Software Engineer (Staff or Senior) for the Infrastructure Security team to design and build scalable security controls within MongoDB Atlas multi-cloud infrastructure. The team sits within the Site Reliability Engineering organization and works with other engineering teams to ensure that our infrastructure adheres to the highest security standards.

This role can be based out of our New York City, Austin, Seattle or San Francisco offices, or work fully

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software/SRE experience with security focus.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Golang, Python, or C/C++).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).
• Strong Linux fundamentals and networking knowledge.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core security primitives and services for MongoDB Atlas across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Implement secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux security modules, Kubernetes, and eBPF.
• Develop APIs and tooling to manage security posture at scale and integrate monitoring pipelines.
• Embed security into CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows (Terraform).
• Lead complex projects end-to-end from discovery to production ownership.
• Collaborate with SRE and platform teams to define secure architectures.
