Job summary

Ladders seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to join a leader in Pharmaceuticals & Biotech. You will design and maintain scalable backend systems supporting integration-heavy product experiences in a highly regulated environment, working across APIs, event-driven services, databases, and deployment tooling.

This remote role is US-based; compensation ranges from $131,000 to $218,300 annually, with on-call rotation and opportunities to influence technical direction.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software development, with emphasis on API and backend design.
• 5+ years of professional experience in TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
• Proven experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technology; relational DB design incl. PostgreSQL; IaC with Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs for dynamic product integrations.
• Develop backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
• Enable Kafka-based event-driven services to support integration continuity.
• Maintain relational database schemas to support business processes.
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and related tools.
• Enhance CI/CD workflows to streamline deployment and integration.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support team-owned services.
