Job summary

ResortPass seeks a seasoned software engineering leader to design and evolve a high-scale API-driven platform for bookings and inventory. You will own external API contracts, data models, and cross-system integrations.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and push reliability through testing, observability, idempotent flows, and robust rollouts, partnering with product and partner teams in NYC.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering with a track record of designing transactional systems, external APIs, and integration platforms.
• Experience designing APIs and integration platforms with safe data migrations.
• Proven ability to evolve production data models safely and deterministically.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and failure handling.
• Expertise in turning complex business rules into clear system boundaries and contracts.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and collaboration across teams.
• Strong emphasis on correctness, testing, observability, and safe rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Public API & Integrations: design and launch the external ResortPass API with versioned contracts (pricing, availability, holds, bookings, changes, and cancellations).
• Core Booking Domain: evolve a flexible domain model (products, inventory, pricing, schedules) for new categories like events or food & beverage.
• Resilience & Reliability: ensure robust failure handling, idempotency, reconciliation, webhooks, retries, and data contracts for OpenSearch discovery.
• Operations & Observability: set latency/availability targets, implement testing, tracing, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks for the booking path.
• Technical Leadership: translate partner requirements into platform capabilities and mentor engineers through reviews and standards.
