You will work in a mob programming environment, write test-driven code, and collaborate closely with product managers and engineers. The role emphasizes AI-driven productivity and on-call rotations within a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of programming experience in a modern language (Go OK; Java/Python/Kotlin fine).
• 3+ years with cloud tech (AWS/Azure) and infrastructure as code (Terraform); MySQL internals.
• 8+ years backend development, building scalable, highly available REST APIs.
• Enjoy mob programming, TDD, and shared system ownership.
• Strong problem solving and ability to troubleshoot large-scale systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
• 1+ year experience using AI to boost productivity in SaaS features.
• BS or MS in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• US work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable backend services for Smartsheet's next-gen apps in collaboration with product and stakeholders.
• Contribute to core infrastructure to ensure reliability, stability, and performance.
• Manage large-scale database infrastructure and automate core operations with AWS, Terraform, Temporal, MySQL, and GitLab-CI.
• Work daily in mob programming; participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
