Smartsheet is seeking a Software Engineer II - Full Stack to help build the next generation of our platform, with remote eligibility in the USA. You will tackle distributed systems challenges and collaborate with product managers and engineers.

Mentoring junior engineers and embracing AI tools to boost team efficiency are part of this role. You will work with Kotlin/Java/TypeScript, AWS and Kubernetes, review code, and contribute to cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 2+ years software development experience building scalable, highly available applications.
• 2+ years of programming with full stack technologies: Java, Kotlin or TypeScript.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs.
• 6+ months professional experience leveraging AI to improve personal productivity in SaaS development.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable back-end services for Smartsheet's next-gen applications (Kotlin, Java).
• Solve distributed systems challenges and work with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions with engineers and product managers.
• Mentor junior engineers on code quality and best practices.
• Forge strong partnerships with product management and other teams.
• Actively use AI tools to improve personal and team efficiency, and coach others on AI use.
