Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate backend systems powering critical AI-driven infrastructure at scale. You’ll own components end-to-end, mentor engineers, and push the boundaries of AI-enabled development while ensuring reliability and security.

You will design APIs, data models, and orchestration for scalable systems, participate in reviews, and contribute to on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, owning production systems end-to-end.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Java, Python, or Rust) and experience with distributed systems.
• Experience designing and operating RESTful or gRPC services, including database design and query optimization.
• Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, and modern software delivery workflows.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems and drive them to resolution.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience using AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor) in development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs with high reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Make architectural tradeoffs on evolving requirements.
• Write resilient, well-tested, observable code for production.
• Design and maintain data models and storage systems that scale with usage.
• Instrument services with logging, metrics, and tracing for rapid incident response.
• Debug production issues and implement durable fixes.
• Participate in code and design reviews and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and incident response for owned systems.
• Build production-grade software with AI as a core development workflow.
