Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Backend Software Development Engineer to join our team and build scalable, high‑quality software across Marketing, Commerce and AI‑centric platforms. You will design, implement, and test robust APIs, while collaborating with world‑class engineers to deliver features customers love and rely on.

You will contribute to multi‑tenant cloud systems, emphasize secure, production‑ready AI tools, and participate in on‑call rotations in a hybrid in‑person work model.

Qualifications

• A related technical degree is required.
• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of OO languages (Java, C++, Go, C#, Ruby, Scala, Python, Node.JS, or JavaScript).
• Experience with REST, SOAP, XML, WSDL, HTTP, JSON; familiarity with web API standards.
• Experience with Spring, gRPC, REST and HTTP protocol.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• AI‑first approach to engineering and experience using AI tools in development workflows.
• Advanced prompt engineering and ability to write precise prompts.
• On-call rotation participation to keep services operational.

Responsibilities

• Backend development for multiple cloud services and APIs.
• Design and implement robust APIs and API framework features in a multi-tenant environment.
• Work with large data sets in cloud environments and integrate with internal/external systems.
• Apply test-driven development, CI/CD practices, and AI‑driven engineering workflows.
