Job summary

Tovala is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to strengthen our backend and internal products that power our food-tech platform. You will design and ship backend services, work across the stack, and shape AI-assisted development practices.

You’ll collaborate with product and design, mentor peers, review code for performance and maintainability, and contribute to architectural decisions as we scale our digital experience and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Strong systems design and architectural judgment.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development and daily workflow integration.
• Ability to work across the stack, including frontend work (React/TypeScript).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with focus on root causes and pragmatic solutions.
• Track record of owning and shipping high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems supporting web and mobile apps (Go/AWS stack).
• Own problems end-to-end: scope, decide, implement, and ship to production.
