Job summary

Empower Pharmacy seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems powering pharmacy operations, manufacturing, logistics and regulatory compliance across its 503A/503B environment. AI-assisted tooling will accelerate development, improve observability, and enable data-driven decisions while upholding security and compliance in a heavily regulated industry.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with ability to own backend features independently.
• Production-grade backend systems experience in complex, regulated environments.
• Mentorship experience and ability to guide junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architecture and Enterprise Integration: Design backend systems for pharmacy operations, manufacturing, and logistics; use AI-assisted tools to model dependencies and validate design decisions.
• Platform Interoperability: Implement and maintain integrations across services and regulatory systems with API versioning; detect drift with AI tooling.
• System Performance and Reliability: Build high-throughput, low-latency systems; apply AI-assisted capacity planning; ensure observability and resilience.
