Job summary

Synapse Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own meaningful backend systems in a fast‑moving, high‑impact environment. Build secure software in a regulated healthcare setting, taking ambiguous problems from concept to production and balancing speed with long‑term maintainability.

You’ll tackle architecture decisions, collaborate across teams, mentor peers, and leverage AI-assisted tooling to improve productivity, while ensuring quality and patient impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend systems with object-oriented languages (C#, Java, Python, Go or similar). Our production env is primarily C#/.NET.
• Experience designing, building, and operating backend services, APIs, or distributed systems in production.
• Strong data modeling, relational DB design, query optimization, and ORM usage.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Responsibilities

• Own backend services from design through production support.
• Break down complex work into high-quality deliverables.
• Debug complex issues and improve system reliability.
• Leverage AI-assisted development workflows to improve productivity and quality.
• Build automation and internal tooling to reduce developer toil and speed up velocity.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Mentor engineers and promote thoughtful engineering practices.
