Job summary

Close is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the CRM team to rearchitect the core data model and enable AI-powered, scalable backend services. You will work across Python Flask/FastAPI servers, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, and PostgreSQL, shaping how leads, contacts, and opportunities are stored and queried.

Qualifications

• Proficient in designing scalable backend systems.
• Strong experience with data modeling and schema design.
• Experience with search indexing and relevance shaping is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-native features and production deployments.

Responsibilities

• Rearchitect the core CRM data model to support flexible customer data relationships.
• Build and expose robust backend APIs and MCP foundation for agents to access CRM data.
• Ship AI-native CRM features including agentic enrichment and AI search while maintaining performance.
