Job summary

Close is seeking a senior engineer to reshape the core CRM data model, enabling flexible representations of leads, contacts, opportunities, and custom objects. You will design scalable migrations and architect rearchitecture plans while enabling cross-team collaboration and AI-powered features.

You will also improve search performance, ship AI-native CRM capabilities, and ensure hot-path latency remains low as teams iterate across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Seasoned engineer with strong Python background and experience across Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Architectural mindset with history designing scalable systems and migrations.
• Interest in data modeling, schemas, normalization, and fast query design.
• Experience with search technologies like Elasticsearch; familiarity with Lucene is a bonus.
• Experience shipping AI-native features and tooling in production environments.
• Comfort working with AI in daily workflows and using developer tools for speed.
• Proven ability to debug latency budgets and own critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect the core CRM data model to support flexible customer representations.
• Build tools and endpoints exposing CRM data and actions with fast search capabilities.
• Deliver AI-native CRM features, including data enrichment and AI-powered search.
• Keep hot paths fast: leads, deals, pipeline updates, and bulk actions.
