Job summary

Actively AI is hiring a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer to architect and build large-scale systems powering our GTM AI agents. You will design scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure, integrate with LLMs, and orchestrate complex workflows to enable reliable actions across enterprise-scale platforms.

You will craft stateful, observable agents with clear contracts, and continuously evolve their design as data volume and concurrency grow, while aligning with product goals and developer experience.

Qualifications

• Experienced in designing large-scale, event-driven backend systems.
• Strong Python expertise and fundamentals in concurrency, transactions, and performance.
• Architectural thinking with trade-offs in consistency, latency, fault tolerance, and cost.
• Product-minded with focus on usability and developer experience.
• Familiar with streaming and workflow technologies and diverse data stores (relational, in-memory, vector).
• Collaborative, pragmatic with clear communication and helping others move faster.
• Curious about AI systems, LLMs, retrieval systems, and agents.
