Worldpay is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Agentic Commerce to join a greenfield backend squad building secure, real-time services that enable AI agents, merchants, and risk systems to collaborate across platforms.

The role focuses on designing merchant APIs, SDKs, and scalable backend services with strong emphasis on trust, authentication, tokenization, and fraud signals, while delivering high-availability systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating cloud-based systems on AWS, GCP, or comparable public clouds.
• Practical interest in AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Strong fundamentals in API design, testing, CI/CD, observability, secure coding, and production support.
• Ability to collaborate across product, architecture, security, fraud, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure checkout and payment APIs for agentic commerce.
• Implement flows capturing agent context, user intent, delegated authority, credentials, risk signals, and reporting data.
• Integrate agentic capabilities with global payment platforms, gateways, and merchant-facing systems.
• Build merchant-facing APIs, SDKs, documentation, samples, and sandbox experiences.
• Own features from design through testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
