Job summary

Unity in Mountain View is hiring for a privacy-focused engineer to own consent and opt-out signals in the ad request path, ensuring compliance across GDPR/CCPA while maintaining high performance.

You will translate evolving regulations into per-jurisdiction configurations, implement auditing, and collaborate with legal, ML, and data teams to deliver scalable, trustworthy systems that protect revenue.

Qualifications

• Experience designing low-latency APIs in production.
• Proficiency in Golang; Java also welcome.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven design.
• Systems where requirements come from outside engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication in multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate consent and opt-out systems in the request path, focusing on latency, correctness, and reliability.
• Own data subject request fulfilment across downstream systems.
• Translate GDPR/CCPA into per-jurisdiction configuration that deploys without code changes.
• Build measurement and auditing to prove systems are functioning.
• Contribute to trust and safety surface, including content policy enforcement and fraud mitigation.
• Collaborate with legal, privacy counsel, ML and data engineers to productionize models/pipelines.
• Manage priorities and drive work across teams.
