Description

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Wordly, you will leverage your expertise to design and implement software solutions across Wordly’s technology stack. You will maintain existing software and develop new features used by end-users for real-time translation.

You may work independently or lead a small engineering team, planning and executing technical work to meet objectives. Your experience will guide Wordly’s engineering processes to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in software architecture, implementation, and delivery based on product requirements.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in software development.
• Experience with dependency injection frameworks like Micronaut, Spring Boot, etc.
• Proficiency with Git version control system.
• Strong knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin.
• Comfort working remotely.
• Self-motivated and independent worker.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with microservice architecture.
• Experience with messaging brokers and event streaming platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• Experience with distributed NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Knowledge of distributed caches like Redis.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with real-time audio streams and Node.js development.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
