Job summary

Grafana Labs in Spain is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Database) to build the storage layer of a general‑purpose data platform. You will own design, implementation, testing and operation of ingestion and query features, with a focus on multi‑tenant architecture and reliable service boundaries.

You will work in a high‑autonomy team, collaborating with product and infra, delivering production‑ready SaaS with strong observability, metrics, and dashboards to monitor behavior and reliability.

Qualifications

• Production-grade software development experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with observability tools and telemetry.
• Ability to design scalable SaaS data storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own parts of the database: design, implement, test, operate ingestion and query planning.
• Define architecture for a multi-tenant database service with isolation and quotas.
• Build APIs for AI agents and internal apps to retrieve data quickly.
• Collaborate across product and infra to balance experimentation and reliability.
• Instrument services with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, dashboards.
• Contribute to technical direction and API contracts.
