Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Software (Database) Engineer to help build the underlying storage system for our general purpose data platform. You will work in a high-autonomy team, designing and implementing a scalable database foundation with OLAP-like queries and cloud-agnostic deployments.

You’ll own components across ingestion, query planning, and multi-tenant architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, production-grade SaaS capabilities and empower agents

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable database services for SaaS.
• Strong knowledge of distributed query processing and storage systems.
• Ability to operate effectively in an autonomous, high-ownership team.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership over database components: ingestion, query planning, distributed query execution, data formats, storage formats.
• Define architecture for a multi-tenant SaaS database service, including isolation, quotas, audit logs and boundaries.
• Build APIs and database interfaces to support agent retrieval workflows and AI integration.
