Job summary

Hunter Industries seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Cloud Services) to lead backend/cloud architecture for an AWS-based IoT consumer app. You will own Lambda microservices, APIs, data pipelines, telemetry, and device communication, while mentoring engineers and driving scalable backend practices.

The role requires hands-on AWS experience, 6+ years of software engineering, and the ability to translate product needs into robust backend designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years in backend/cloud systems.
• Experience leading technical design for distributed, serverless, event-driven or IoT-connected systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and evolution of backend and cloud services for a scalable AWS-based IoT consumer app.
• Own backend architecture across APIs, data models, telemetry, and device communication patterns.
• Develop and maintain Python-based AWS Lambda microservices and REST APIs.
• Provide player-coach leadership through design/code reviews, mentoring, and hands-on development.
• Define architecture patterns, API contracts, data flows, and security considerations.
• Collaborate with firmware, mobile, QA, DevOps, Product, Security, and consultants.
