Job summary

LVT, headquartered in American Fork, Utah, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and scale our distributed core services powering IoT and Agentic AI platforms. You will own robust APIs, data pipelines, and microservice architectures while mentoring peers.

You will work across hardware and cloud software, collaborating with product, hardware engineers, and AI teams to deliver reliable, secure systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend software engineering experience, with production systems at scale.
• Deep expertise in server-side TypeScript and Node.js, async programming, microservices.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling RESTful and GraphQL APIs for complex ecosystems.
• Strong relational DB skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL); optimization and ORM tooling.
• Proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQTT) and cloud native architecture.
• Commitment to software excellence: tests, CI/CD, observability (OpenTelemetry, Datadog).
• Ability to mentor and lead across teams in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy high-throughput, low-latency backend services and microservices.
• Design and implement resilient RESTful and GraphQL APIs for IoT platforms.
• Optimize data ingestion pipelines and database performance for real-time telemetry.
• Design and optimize relational schemas, caching, and ORM usage.
• Contribute to code quality through reviews, RFCs, and tooling decisions.
• Drive CI/CD improvements and automated testing strategies.
• Implement observability and tracing to monitor system health and performance.
• Collaborate with product, hardware, and AI teams to translate requirements into scalable software.
