Job summary

Leap Tools Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Developer, Backend Streams (Europe) to drive the architecture of ETL and data processing systems, ingesting customer catalogs into Leap Tools' internal catalog platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development in production systems.
• Experience designing and operating ETL pipelines and data-intensive systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts and horizontal scaling.
• Experience profiling performance and improving throughput and latency.
• Familiarity with data engineering, product catalogs, or e-commerce data.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture of ETL and data processing systems for customer catalogs.
• Design systems for large, variable datasets with complex schemas.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks to improve throughput and latency.
• Design distributed processing systems with fault tolerance and idempotency.
• Evolve architecture as the catalog grows in size and complexity.
• Partner with leadership to define technical direction and scale.
• Mentor senior engineers and conduct architecture reviews.
• Set engineering standards for backend systems (scalability, observability).
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across teams.
• Shape long-term technical vision and hiring strategies.
