Happy Health is seeking a senior backend engineer to own the architecture, scalability, reliability, and security of our serverless AWS backend powering the Happy Ring platform. You will shape API design, data stores, and integration with CRM, EHR, eCommerce, and 3PL systems.

In this leadership role you will mentor engineers, drive platform decisions, and partner with mobile and web teams to deliver high‑quality APIs and services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software development.
• 5+ years of Python development.
• 5+ years of AWS production systems.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to lead design and influence engineering direction.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and evolve a serverless backend stack in AWS to support customer-facing applications and internal workflows.
• Lead the design, implementation, and integration of REST API, event processors, services, and datastores.
• Establish backend engineering best practices around design, observability, reliability, and security.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers, contractors, and partners.
• Drive architectural decisions across software, mobile, web, ecommerce, and operations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and secure M2M authentication/workflows.
• Identify risks and bottlenecks; propose solutions for growth and long-term needs.
