We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Back-End Engineer with a strong focus on Python to join our global, fast-growing team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling the backend infrastructure of our innovative platform. In addition to owning critical backend components, you will act as a mentor to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. While your primary responsibility will be back-end development, you will also have opportunities to collaborate across the full stack, ensuring the platform meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

1. Architect and develop distributed, scalable back-end services and APIs, primarily in Python.
2. Mentor and guide junior engineers by providing technical leadership, conducting code reviews, and sharing best practices.
3. Collaborate with front-end engineers to build and optimize APIs that facilitate seamless communication between front-end and back-end components.
4. Design and maintain data models using relational and/or NoSQL databases.
5. Implement robust security measures to protect user data and system integrity.
6. Optimize and monitor system performance, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
7. Work closely with global teams (US and India), effectively coordinating across time zones and diverse cultural backgrounds.
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in back-end technologies and best practices, and help drive continuous improvement across the engineering team.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of experience in back-end development, with a strong track record in Python (Flask, Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks).
2. Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers, ensuring they grow in their technical and professional skills.
3. Experience working in distributed/global teams (US and India) and effectively collaborating across multiple time zones.
4. Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
5. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying production-grade services.
6. Demonstrated experience building and deploying RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
7. Proficiency in implementing security best practices and writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
8. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
9. Experience with full-stack development (front-end technologies) is a plus.
