Job summary

VISTA Technology Services, Inc. in Springfield, VA, seeks a Back-Front-End Developer to design, implement, and maintain server-side logic and APIs for TSSC applications. You will ensure security standards and support mission objectives in a classified environment.

The role requires building robust databases, integrating with government authentication, and mentoring junior developers. Active DoD clearance eligibility is required; TS/SCI eligibility is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in back-end development.
• Expertise in Python, Java, C#, Ruby, or Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of server-side frameworks (e.g., Django, Spring, .NET).
• Knowledge of database design and optimization techniques.
• Experience with API development and integration.
• Understanding of security best practices for classified environments.
• Experience with authentication and authorization systems (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with API design and development (e.g., REST, GraphQL).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Node.js).
• Strong understanding of database technologies, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining server-side applications and APIs.
• Building and managing databases, and ensuring data integrity and security.
• Design and optimize database queries and data access layers.
• Integrate with Government authentication systems and security frameworks.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Leading code reviews and promoting best practices in back-end development.
• Implement security controls and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Create and maintain documentation for back-end systems and interfaces.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration.
• Coordinate with data engineering team on database design and implementation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers.
