Job summary

RapidScale is seeking a senior AVD Architect to lead Azure, AVD, and EUC strategy with executive stakeholders. You will translate business needs into scalable, secure Azure architectures, drive discovery sessions, and define roadmaps across infrastructure, networking, identity, and security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall experience or equivalent in IT architecture.
• 4+ years hands-on Azure architecture experience.
• 3+ years hands-on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in enterprise environments.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale AVD environments.
• Migration experience from EUC/VDI platforms to AVD (Citrix, VMware Horizon, RDS, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of Azure components: AD, Entra ID, networking, compute, storage.
• Experience with IaC: Terraform, Bicep, ARM.
• Automation and repeatable deployment patterns for Azure/AVD.
• Ability to produce architecture diagrams and customer-facing deliverables.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-140) or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with C-level stakeholders to define Azure, AVD strategies.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure AVD and Azure architectures.
• Lead discovery and architecture sessions to captures business drivers and constraints.
• Define enterprise AVD architecture, standards, and roadmaps across infrastructure.
• Develop TCO models, capacity assessments, and optimization strategies.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture lifecycle from design to implementation.
• Partner with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, and Cloud Operations to shape solutions.
• Develop executive-ready architecture recommendations and documentation.
• Mentor architects and engineering teams to establish best practices.
