Job summary

RapidScale, part of the Spectrum/Charter ecosystem, seeks an experienced AVD Architect to guide Azure, EUC, and AVD strategies for enterprise-scale deployments. You will translate business needs into secure, scalable architectures and lead sessions with executive stakeholders to shape roadmaps and investments.

You will mentor teams, define standards, and deliver executive-ready designs and documentation for ongoing optimization of AVD and Azure environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall experience with cloud architectures.
• 4+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience.
• 3+ years of Azure Virtual Desktop in enterprise environments.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale AVD environments.
• Experience migrating users from traditional EUC/VDI to AVD including Citrix/VMware Horizon/RDS.
• Hands-on knowledge of Azure services including compute, networks, storage, and identity.
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Bicep, ARM.
• CI/CD for Azure infrastructure and AVD deployments.
• Ability to produce architecture diagrams and customer-facing deliverables.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-140) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with senior and C-level stakeholders to define Azure, AVD, and EUC strategies.
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure AVD and Azure architectures.
• Lead sessions to understand business drivers and constraints.
• Define enterprise AVD architecture, standards, and roadmaps.
• Develop TCO models and capacity assessments for AVD investments.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture lifecycle from strategy to implementation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, and Cloud Operations.
• Develop executive-ready architecture recommendations and documentation.
• Mentor architects and engineers to improve AVD capabilities.
