Job summary

RapidScale, a Spectrum brand, seeks an experienced AVD Architect to lead enterprise Azure and EUC strategies. You will translate business goals into scalable cloud architectures, oversee architecture sessions, and guide implementation from design to optimization across identity, networking, compute, and security.

Collaborating with C-level stakeholders and engineers, you will deliver cost-effective, secure AVD and Azure solutions, develop roadmaps, and mentor teams while enforcing best practices

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant overall experience with cloud architectures.
• 4+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in enterprise environments.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale AVD environments.
• Experience migrating users from traditional EUC/VDI to AVD (Citrix, VMware Horizon, RDS).
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure services (Compute, VNets, Storage, FSLogix, Entra ID, AD).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and automation for Azure infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with senior and C-level stakeholders to define Azure, AVD, and EUC strategies.
• Translate requirements into scalable, secure AVD and Azure architectures.
• Lead architecture sessions to understand business drivers and constraints.
• Define enterprise AVD architecture, standards, and roadmaps across infra, networking, identity, security, apps, and operations.
• Develop TCO models, capacity assessments, and optimization strategies for AVD and Azure investments.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture lifecycle from design to implementation and optimization.
• Partner with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, and Cloud Operations to shape solutions and align technical direction.
• Develop executive-ready architecture recommendations, roadmaps, and documentation.
• Mentor architects and engineers to promote best practices in RapidScale’s AVD/Azure capabilities.
