Job summary

CLA is seeking a Senior Database Developer to join our Information Technology team in New Jersey. The role focuses on 75% database development and 25% DBA work, delivering secure, scalable SQL Server databases and robust data solutions.

You will design schemas, implement complex queries, manage security and backups, and collaborate with developers to optimize performance. 4+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree are required, with strong Azure SQL skills.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL Server development on the Azure Cloud platform.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server development tools (SSMS, Azure Data Studio).
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Fabric, Cosmos.
• Experience with database security, backup, and recovery procedures in Azure.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain complex SQL Server databases (schemas, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures).
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries and procedures.
• Manage database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance issues and tune databases.
• Collaborate with software developers to meet their data needs.
• Document data flows, dependencies, and integrations.
• Develop monitoring plans for on‑prem and cloud databases.
• Provide disaster recovery planning and procedures.
