Job summary

DaCodes in a remote-friendly environment seeks a Senior Data Architect to lead the modernization of legacy ETL workloads into scalable lakehouse architectures on Azure. You will own cloud design decisions, guide up to three engineers, and ensure secure, auditable governance.

You will analyze existing production workloads, validate automated analyses, and define ingestion patterns, partitioning and naming conventions.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in data engineering and data architecture.

Responsibilities

• Analyze legacy production workloads (Reverse engineer Alteryx workflows, SSIS packages, and SQL Server jobs).
• Validate automated analysis against source artifacts and resolve discrepancies.
• Own cloud architecture decisions; define target lakehouse architecture and ingestion patterns.
• Define governance and security, including Unity Catalog.
• Approve implementation plans before authorizing automated code generation.
• Resolve escalations as final technical authority for exceptions.
• Guide the engineering team, reviewing approaches and unblocking up to three engineers.
• Approve integrations as reviewer for PRs to protected branches.
• Maintain decision traceability by documenting assumptions and trade-offs.
