Job summary

Valorem Reply is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern data platforms for clients using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power BI, and Databricks. You will engage directly with clients, translate business needs into scalable solutions, and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

The role involves solution architecture, collaboration in design sessions, and delivering lakehouse architectures to drive measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud data solutions.
• 3+ years with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar technologies.
• Expertise with Microsoft Azure data resources (Fabric, Synapse, Power BI, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL).
• Databricks expertise including Unity Catalog, data warehousing, and data sharing.
• DevOps for data, GitHub, automated testing, and containers (AKS, Docker).
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand client goals, data challenges, and technical requirements.
• Lead or support discovery sessions, architecture discussions, and reviews.
• Develop and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines from various sources.
• Implement medallion/lakehouse architectures and data workflows for analytics.
• Engineer solutions using PySpark, Spark SQL, SQL, Python, Delta Lake, and Azure/Databricks tools.
• Advise on data modeling, governance, lineage, monitoring, DevOps, and security.
