Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to help modernize an enterprise data platform by migrating workloads to a cloud-based Azure data lake architecture. You will design and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Data Factory, contributing to architecture discussions and best practices.

You will ingest data from legacy systems, implement quality checks, and promote data through medallion layers, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and business partners

Qualifications

• Experience migrating on-premises data warehouses to cloud architectures.
• Proficient with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python/PySpark development skills.
• Experience with medallion or lakehouse architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automated deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Support migration of ETL workloads from on prem Oracle/DataStage to Azure data lake.
• Develop scalable ingestion, transformation, and processing solutions.
• Implement medallion architecture across Bronze, Silver, Gold layers.
• Incorporate data-quality and validation checks within pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business partners to deliver reliable data products.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, testing, and deployment activities.
