Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer II to drive design, implementation, and optimization of complex infrastructure systems across hybrid environments. You will collaborate with architecture to deliver secure, reliable hosting of applications and integrate cloud and on-premise solutions while guiding junior engineers and coordinating with business partners.

The role requires strong problem-solving, cloud expertise (primarily Microsoft Azure), and experience in architecture strategy,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4–9 years IT infrastructure design, cloud computing, or related experience
• Experience with system administration and documenting processes
• Ability to lead operational handoffs and partner with leadership
• Proficiency in cloud architecture strategy, cost, and security/compliance
• Strong problem-solving and communication for senior stakeholders
• Proven ability to influence across teams and mentor juniors

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with business partners and vendors to gather system requirements and feasibility
• Develop future plans, migration strategies, and project schedules; present to boards
• Design, support, and maintain custom system integrations as needed
• Ensure risks and issues are tracked and reported with data to leadership
• Lead peer code reviews and provide coaching to engineers
