Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer in Phoenix to ensure reliability, scalability, and security of Azure, M365, and hybrid cloud. You will move from manual configurations to IaC, build automated operations pipelines, and establish proactive monitoring frameworks.

You will partner with cybersecurity, infra, and business teams to maintain highly available systems while meeting strict federal compliance standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of direct experience engineering, provisioning, and maintaining enterprise Microsoft Azure environments.
• 5+ years of overall IT infrastructure, networking, or systems engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to build production-grade automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Hands-on experience deploying cloud resources via IaC frameworks (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM).
• Strong proficiency in cloud routing, NSGs, firewalls, and hybrid site-to-site connectivity.
• Practical experience implementing zero-trust and least-privilege security.

Responsibilities

• Author, test, and deploy Azure resources using Terraform, Azure Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Write automation scripts to eliminate manual tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
• Maintain automated tooling for configuration consistency across VMs and services.
• Track, analyze, and optimize cloud spend using Azure Cost Management and resource scheduling.
• Configure secure, high-availability hybrid networks (VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways).
• Design proactive monitoring dashboards using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Enforce compliance boundaries across subscriptions with Azure Policy and Blueprints.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) with Conditional Access, PIM, and SSO.
• Escalate and resolve incidents as Tier III for cloud infrastructure and enterprise apps.
