Job summary

Atlas Tech in North Charleston, SC is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and secure Azure-based architectures for DoD missions. This onsite role requires relocation to the Charleston market and supports IL5/IL6 environments with Azure Government emphasis.

You will implement hybrid-cloud solutions, manage identity, network, and security, automate infrastructure with Terraform and Azure Automation, and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced Agile setting.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret clearance with SSBI/T5 or TS/SCI desired.
• DoD 81408570 certifications to be qualified as IAT Level II (e.g., Security+)
• 10+ years of experience with C4I systems focusing on systems engineering and cybersecurity support
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, CS, or related field
• Experience supporting Navy C4I or comparable DoD mission environments
• Azure Government and IL6 cloud engineering experience
• Advanced Azure architecture with VDI, Arc, ExpressRoute, Firewall, Defender, VPN, VMs, containers, and RBAC
• Hybrid-cloud architecture spanning on-prem and Azure, Terraform with Azure Automation, Git CI/CD
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, RMF/POA&Ms, continuous monitoring
• Strong communication, docs, collaboration, and leadership in Agile environments

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, secure, and sustain Azure architectures with preference for Azure Government
• Apply IL5/IL6 DoD cloud experience and Azure Arc integrations
• Design hybrid-cloud solutions with on-prem and Azure components
• Engineer connectivity including ExpressRoute and VPN Gateway
• Manage internal networks, VNets, subnets, NSGs, VLANs, routing
• Implement cloud security using Defender, Firewall, least privilege, Zero Trust
• Develop Azure identity and RBAC integration with NIS tools
• Architect and support Azure Virtual Desktop and container workloads
• Evaluate constraints and develop resilient Azure plans
• Automate provisioning with Terraform and Azure Automation; CI/CD with Git
• Troubleshoot cloud, network, identity, security, and hybrid issues
• Produce architecture diagrams, test artifacts, RMF/ATO evidence
