Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers, seeks a Senior Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer in North Charleston, SC. This onsite role requires relocation if outside Charleston.

You will design, deploy, and secure Azure architectures for DoD missions, prioritizing Azure Government with IL5/IL6 experience. You will also build hybrid-cloud solutions, manage networking, identity, and security, and contribute to RMF/ATO compliance while collaborating in a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• DoD Secret Level Security Clearance with SSBI/T5; TS/SCI desired
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II cert.
• 10+ years of experience with C4I systems in DoD contexts
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, CS, or related field
• Experience supporting Navy C4I or similar DoD missions
• Azure Government and IL6 cloud engineering experience
• Advanced Azure architecture with VDI, Arc, ExpressRoute, Defender, VPN, VM
• Hybrid-cloud architecture spanning on-premises and Azure
• Terraform integrated with Azure Automation; Git-based CI/CD pipelines
• Kubernetes experience (AKS or similar)
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, RMF controls, POA&Ms
• Strong communication and leadership in Agile environments

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, secure, and sustain Microsoft Azure architectures, prioritizing Azure Government when possible
• Apply IL5/IL6 DoD security requirements in solution designs and implementations
• Design hybrid-cloud solutions linking on-prem and Azure (Azure Arc)
• Engineer connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway) to on-prem networks
• Design and manage internal networks, subnets, NSGs, VLANs, routing
• Implement cloud security using Defender, Azure Firewall, least privilege, Zero Trust
• Design and administer Azure identity, RBAC, privileged access, service identities
• Architect and support Azure Virtual Desktop and containerized workloads
• Evaluate constraints and create resilient Azure solution architectures and plans
• Develop repeatable infra provisioning with Terraform + Azure Automation; CI/CD
• Troubleshoot cloud, network, identity, security, and hybrid issues
• Produce architecture diagrams, implementation plans, RMF/ATO evidence, and conduct reviews
