Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation seeks a senior Azure cloud engineer to design, deploy, and sustain Azure and Azure Government architectures in support of Navy C4I. You will integrate on‑prem infrastructure with cloud services, engineer ExpressRoute/VPN connectivity, and enforce Zero Trust security with Defender and Azure Firewall.

You will manage identity and access, automate infrastructure with Terraform and Azure Automation, and support RMF/ATO, STIGs, and continuous monitoring in lab, test,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline.
• Five or more years of Microsoft Azure systems engineering experience including architecture design, deployment, configuration, administration, and sustainment.
• Experience with Azure Government or DoD-owned cloud environments.
• Hybrid cloud architectures integrating on premises infrastructure with Azure services.
• Azure networking including virtual networks, subnets, VPN Gateway, and ExpressRoute.
• Security implementations including Microsoft Defender, Azure Firewall, secure baselines, least privilege access, RBAC, and Zero Trust.
• Identity and access management including privileged access and service identities.
• Infrastructure automation using Terraform, Azure Automation, PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Experience producing technical documentation and RMF/ATO compliance evidence.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, secure, and sustain Microsoft Azure and Azure Government cloud architectures for Navy C4I.
• Support hybrid cloud solutions integrating on premises infrastructure with Azure services.
• Engineer Azure connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway) and networking.
• Manage Azure networking components (VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, segmentation).
• Implement cloud security with Defender, Azure Firewall, baselines, RBAC, and Zero Trust.
• Administer Azure identity and access controls coordination with cybersecurity teams.
• Architect and support Azure Virtual Desktop and VM/container workloads.
• Develop repeatable infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, automation, scripting, and CI/CD.
• Produce architecture diagrams, implementation plans, test artifacts, SOPs, and sustainment docs.
• Support RMF, ATO, STIG, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring.
