Job summary

CertiPath is seeking a Senior AWS Platform Engineer to lead the design, security, and scaling of our AWS EKS-based CI/CD platform and bootstrap our IVIP production cloud services. You will be a technical leader, delivering secure, high-performance production-grade CI/CD systems on AWS EKS and partnering with platform, security, and executive leadership.

You will own the reliability, on-call rotation, and incident response while championing best practices in IaC, GitOps, and security.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government clearance.
• 8+ years of progressive software engineering or DevOps experience.
• 5+ years of expert-level AWS Kubernetes experience with EKS (Rancher-managed).
• Deep expertise building and operating production CI/CD platforms at scale.
• Strong IaC and automation with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes manifests, and GitOps.
• Security-first mindset with best-practices for SaaS and hybrid cloud.
• Proven CI/CD, container platforms, and workloads experience in AWS EKS.
• Strong Python scripting and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, provisioning, and maintenance of production-grade AWS EKS clusters (Rancher).
• Own reliability, availability, performance, and security of production cloud services; on-call rotation.
• Architect and scale Actions Runner Controller on AWS EKS with gha-runner-scale-set.
• Champion cybersecurity: least-privilege IAM, pod/network policies, secrets management, scanning.
• Optimize image pipelines (Docker-in-Docker → Kaniko) and manage internal registries (Nexus, Harbor).
• Write Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes manifests; drive GitOps.
• Design and manage hybrid networking between AWS EKS and on-prem Nutanix environments.
• Instrument Prometheus/Grafana; monitor runner lifecycle and cluster utilization.
• This is a deeply technical, non-manager role shaping architecture and strategy.
