Job summary

Bluelight is a leading software consultancy seeking a Senior DevOps/SRE specialist to design, deploy, and operate scalable, secure systems for clients across the Americas. You will leverage AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM), IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and robust observability to ensure reliability and performance.

A 5+ year background in DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps and strong collaboration across teams are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3).
• Experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL in production, including multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and replica lag monitoring.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and ECS/Fargate.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with deployment automation and tested rollback paths, including rollback drills.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or similar).
• Experience with load testing (k6 or similar) and operating services against latency SLOs and error budgets.
• Security-first mindset: vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance/hardening practices.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 (or similar) audit evidence and client security reviews
• Experience with incident response, on-call rotations, and root-cause analysis
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap US business hours
