Bluelight is a leading software consultancy that designs and builds innovative tech solutions for clients across the United States and the Americas. We are seeking a senior software architect to shape end-to-end system designs, drive architectural decisions, and mentor engineering teams.

You will design low-latency, scalable services in AWS, implement secure multi-tenant models with RLS, and deliver clear architecture documentation and ADRs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
• Deep experience designing low-latency service architectures in AWS, including when distributed components are needed.
• Experience designing to latency budgets (p95/p99) with synchronous durable commits in hot paths.
• Experience designing audit/evidence systems with append-only logs and versioned data models.
• Experience designing fail-open/fail-closed/degraded-state semantics and outage postures.
• Proven experience architecting secure multi-tenant environments (RLS vs. schema-per-tenant).
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and RLS at data-modeling level; RESTful API design.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript across the stack; SDK integrations.
• Experience producing architecture documentation, ADRs, and reviews; mentoring teams.
