Job summary

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the IT Data Engineering team and advance our global LIMS program. The role centers on building production data systems, end-to-end, with CI/CD pipelines and IaC for near-real-time data delivery using AWS services.

You will design streaming ingestion, API-driven data flows, and data models while ensuring reliability and observability. On-call rotations and collaboration across teams are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Production-grade data systems experience in fault-tolerant environments.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and data models.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain streaming ingestion, API-based data workflows, and distributed data transformations using AWS services (Kinesis, Lambda, Glue/Spark, EMR, S3).
• Develop and maintain REST APIs for data ingestion and consumption.
• Design and implement platform automation and deterministic deployment workflows with versioned releases.
• Develop and optimize data lake and operational data models for near-real-time use cases.
• Work across streaming and batch layers to ensure high-quality data delivery.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support data systems and services.
