Custom Software Systems, Inc. (CSS) seeks a Senior Cloud Security Specialist to lead security across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.

You will drive architecture, implement controls, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s security posture. The ideal candidate has extensive AWS security experience, federal regulatory familiarity, and a hands-on approach to securing scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in cybersecurity, including cloud security, compliance and risk management.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on AWS security experience.
• Experience implementing secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures and security frameworks.
• Federal cybersecurity experience including NIST CSF, OMB M-22-09, NIST SP 800-53.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security reviews of cloud infrastructure and IaC.
• Evaluate infrastructure-as-code against security standards and policies.
• Review and validate compliance with security policies and best practices.
• Assess adherence to the AWS Well-Architected Framework security pillar.
• Identify security misconfigurations and non-compliant controls.
• Develop and maintain security posture dashboards and reports.
• Create or update security configuration guides and playbooks.
• Provide technical consultation to engineering teams on secure implementation.
• Implement AWS security controls to harden cloud environments.
• Develop and update AWS security configuration standards.
• Deliver security training sessions for engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities to automate security assessments and tooling.
