Job summary

UST is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to lead lift-and-shift migration of on-prem workloads to AWS, focusing on re-hosting applications, storage, and file transfer with minimal re-architecture. You will work with infrastructure, application, and security teams to plan cutover, containerize workloads, and ensure a smooth transition.

The role emphasizes designing CloudFront-based content delivery, S3 storage architectures, and secure transfers using AWS Transfer Family, with hands-on Docker

Qualifications

• Must-have: Amazon CloudFront expertise with web content and app delivery experience.
• Hands-on experience configuring CloudFront distributions including origin, caching, and invalidations.
• Understanding signed URLs/cookies and WAF integration for edge security with S3.
• Experience designing S3 bucket architecture, storage classes, lifecycle policies, and security (bucket policies, encryption, versioning).
• Experience migrating on-prem file storage to S3 with AWS Transfer Family.
• Hands-on experience standing up AWS Transfer Family endpoints (SFTP/FTPS/FTP) and integrating with S3/EFS.
• Familiarity with IAM, KMS, security groups, and network controls for managed file transfer.
• Experience containerizing apps with Docker and writing Dockerfiles.
• Comfort with running containerized workloads in cloud environments.
• Led or contributed to at least one on-prem to AWS migration project.
• Experience with migration assessment, wave planning, and cutover execution.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute lift‑and‑shift migration of on‑prem servers and workloads to AWS.
• Design and implement content delivery using CloudFront and storage with S3.
• Stand up secure file transfer workflows using AWS Transfer Family (SFTP/FTPS/FTP).
• Containerize legacy applications with Docker for cloud hosting.
• Configure AWS networking, compute, security groups, and IAM for migrated workloads.
• Validate post‑migration performance, cost and security; remediate issues during cutover.
• Document migration architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.
