Job summary

UST seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join its Cloud Platform Engineering team, focusing on migrating on-prem workloads to AWS and managing EC2/Linux infrastructure. You will plan cutover waves, right-size compute, and ensure security, patching, and production readiness from day one on AWS.

Responsibilities include lifting and shifting servers to EC2, building AMIs, configuring ASGs, and hardening builds.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience provisioning/managing EC2 instances at scale
• Experience with AMI creation and lifecycle management
• Experience with Auto Scaling groups and EBS volume management
• Understanding of EC2 networking: security groups, elastic IPs, placement groups
• Strong Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS/Amazon Linux/Ubuntu)
• Shell scripting for automation and ops
• Experience with OS patching, hardening, and migration uplift to AWS
• Experience leading or contributing to an on-premises to AWS migration project
• Familiarity with IaC (CloudFormation or Terraform) and migration tooling (MGN)

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute lift-and-shift migration of on-premises servers to Amazon EC2
• Build and maintain custom AMIs, instance configurations, and Auto Scaling groups
• Administer Linux servers: provisioning, patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting
• Configure networking/security for EC2 workloads (VPC, SGs, NACLs, load balancers)
• Harden and standardize server builds to meet security baselines
• Automate provisioning and configuration management via scripting and tools
• Validate post-migration performance and remediation during cutover
• Document server architecture, runbooks, and SOPs
